Locum of the Month
Wednesday 9th May 2012
Each month JustOT would like to recognise one of our locums for their personal achievement and commitment to the Occupational Therapy Service!
Name: Emma-Kate Dewhurst
Profession: Occupational Therapist
Where are you from? Kiama, Australia
Current Locum position? Band 6 OT Community Rehabilitation Service (CRS)
What do you enjoy about your job?
Being out in the community, I get to see different parts of London; enjoy the weather (usually!!); and get to meet a variety of patients.
Personal achievements within your role?
Represented the Trust’s CRS in developing the Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) Support Workers Competencies for Rehabilitation Assistants.
I am currently involved in a Randomised Control Trial on upper limb rehabilitation post stroke.
How do you unwind from work?
Exploring London’s various Farmers Markets is a great time to relax with a coffee and work on improving my ‘Heathrow Injection’! I also try to travel within the UK or Europe every second weekend so that allows me to escape from the working week.
If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 items would you take?
1.) Djembe drum
2.) My diary (I like being organised!!)
3.) An unlimited supply of fruit and nut muesli
